Who We Are and What We Do

Momentum Consulting Firm partners with organizations who are ready to begin the process of changing their corporate culture. Understanding the great challenges that businesses and educational organizations face with ensuring that they are working to create racially and socially equitable and just environments. We facilitate a strategic plan to create space for their employees -from the C-Suite to the most entry-level position - to do deep, personal self-interrogation of their beliefs and practices as they relate to race and racism. Momentum Consulting Firm uses a process that attends to the need for organizations to address racism within their DEI efforts. Racism Equity Diversity and Inclusion (R.E.D.I.) as a framework provides a fundamental pathway for our process

 

Momentum Consulting Firm engages this demographic of workers with game design in ways that help them share their stories, gain project management and collaboration skills. Who knows? They may even launch anew game to add to the work to end racism!

Following what seemed to be an incessant stream of murders of Black People, Dr. Trudi L. Perkins began extensively exploring the gaps that exist in educational practices aimed at increasing knowledge of racism as a topic and practice in educational and corporate spaces. Through performing case-study research and remaining informed on of current scholarly literature and practices that are being explored. Literature, Dr. Trudi has gained a keen insight into the critical need for changing the way that educators and other professional development providers interact with the pedagogy of racism.

Momentum Consulting Firm (MCF) was created in 2019 for the specific purpose of transforming the ways that DEI and Anti-racism practitioners and educators approach the work of increasing racism awareness and the knowledge associated with the dismantling of inequitable systems and structures. At MCF, we recognize the frustration that has settled into the field of anti-racism education and diversity, equity and inclusion work and we are committed to providing rigorous support in these areas to educators at all levels, DEI practitioners and the leadership teams that steer organizational culture and strategic direction.

MCF has set its sights on becoming the standard-bearer for bridging the high-level knowledge and  practices that make education such a crucial part of learning and practicing in the field of Racism Awareness Development as it intersects with the strategic insights and driving motivations that Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts rely upon.
